Thun Von, a mother of eight children and a vendor selling fried bananas in a small market, can be seen with a radiant smile as she washes her grandson's hands near a sparkling well. This simple gesture represents the remarkable change that has taken place in her family's life since they gained access to proper sanitation and clean water.

Von vividly describes the difficulties she encountered, “Imagine the difficulty of walking to a distant field toilet with aching feet, especially at night or when heavy rains made the field toilet even more dangerous for the elderly like me and my young grandchildren.” Von said "One day, I fell on my way to the field toilet, Von recalled, her voice etched with the memory of fear. "Back then, the rain was pouring, and my legs were hurting while I was walking to the field at the back of my house for a toilet. I can say it was really hard and a struggle for me” Von continued.

In addition to the lack of adequate toilets, Von's family faces a constant struggle with water scarcity in their large household. With numerous family members to care for, the need for water is ever-present and urgent. Unfortunately, their only water source, an aging well with a broken pump and insufficient water supply tools, fails to meet their needs. This daily battle for these essential resources takes a toll on Von and her family, consuming valuable time and draining their energy that could be better utilized for other crucial tasks.
