NBC, US Treasury discuss digital asset regulation frameworks


[Khmer Times]: The National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) and the United States Department of the Treasury (US Treasury), on Monday discussed emerging trends in digital assets and evolving regulatory frameworks, while also exchanging views on economic development and financial sector reforms.

Chea Serey, Governor of NBC, received a courtesy call from Robert Kaproth, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Asia and the Pacific of the United States Department of the Treasury, accompanied by Katherine Diop, Acting Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Phnom Penh.

During the meeting, the NBC Governor and the US Treasury Deputy Assistant exchanged views on key topics related to the development of Cambodia’s economy, financial sector and advancement of financial technology.

Serey briefed on the economic situation, challenges and the Royal Government’s efforts to strengthen economic resilience by diversifying export markets, attracting high-value-added investments and maintaining financial sector resilience to support the Kingdom’s economic growth.
