[Khmer Times]: The National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) will hold the 13th Annual Macroeconomic Conference 2026 under the theme “Promoting domestic production and sustainable substitution of imported products” in November this year.

Domestic production is considered a driving force for sustainable economic activities, especially amid high global economic uncertainty, NBC stated in an announcement issued on Monday.

Given that the promotion of domestic production still faces many challenges that require all stakeholders to contribute to solving them further, the forthcoming event will focus on gathering new opinions and strategies to turn domestic production into a strong driving force to propel Cambodia through the uncertainties of the global economy.

“The increase in domestic production will significantly contribute to replacing imports with products that have raw materials and can be produced locally, which will create jobs and increase people’s incomes,” NBC stated in the announcement.

The central bank lauded the government’s efforts in prioritising domestic production through various initiatives, including entrepreneurship training for micro, small, and medium enterprises as well as women entrepreneurs, business registration reforms, modernisation of technology systems, and the introduction of many other incentive policies.
