On 16 September 2026, Mr. Vatanak Chhorn, Secretary General of the Cambodia Microfinance Association (CMA), led a team in a meeting with representatives of Proparco, a development finance institution and impact investor, at the CMA office.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views and share information on the current situation and trends in Cambodia’s microfinance sector, including sector growth, portfolio quality, regulatory frameworks, and the sector’s efforts to strengthen consumer protection.

CMA also shared its efforts, together with the microfinance sector, to promote financial literacy and consumer protection through projects, training programs, workshops, awareness campaigns, and other sector initiatives, contributing to a more sustainable, inclusive, and consumer-focused microfinance sector in Cambodia.
