On 1 October 2026, Cambodia Microfinance Association (CMA) and the Association of Banks in Cambodia (ABC) jointly organized a regional and branch leadership workshop on “𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵,” with the support of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC). In his opening remarks, Mr. Sok Voeun, Chairman of the CMA, emphasized that institutional success goes beyond credit growth and profitability. It also depends on strong management, regulatory compliance, consumer protection, effective risk management, and long-term public trust.

The workshop brought together sector leaders and experts to exchange practical knowledge on good governance, credit quality, responsible NPL management, branch leadership, consumer protection, and dispute resolution.
H.E. Dith Nita, Vice Chairwoman of the CMA, also contributed as a distinguished panelist on strengthening credit quality and responsible NPL management and delivered the closing remarks. She highlighted the importance of prioritizing sustainable growth over short-term profit, alongside continued efforts in consumer protection, financial literacy, professional ethics, and responsible lending.
