KREDIT Profile

KREDIT Microfinance Institution Ltd (KREDIT Ltd) was established by World Relief US in 1993 to provide sustainable financial services to Cambodian poor people and became a licensed microfinance institution in May 2004.

After becoming MFI, it has grown very fast in terms of loan outstanding and numbers of clients while keeping very high quality of loan. As of Aug 2011, KREDIT is handling loan outstanding USD37.66 millions lent to 52,965 clients in which about 20%, in addition to loan provided, also get finance training and other development programs provided by our partners. The training includes debt management, savings, budgeting, primary health care, their preferred agricultural training provided by experts for 2 days (theory and practical) with follow up program, and awareness of HIV/AIDS. Loan quality has kept in a good position at 1.08% for PAR 30+. In Cambodia, we are unique to provide such training to clients. Have seen movement trend and development of KREDIT, National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) in Dec 2010 granted Micro- Deposit taking Institution (MDI) license to KREDIT. With this new license, KREDIT has started providing deposit and remittent service to the public since beginning of 2011. As of the same date, we have collected savings from the clients more than USD2.5 millions.

In this early 2012, we got a new shareholder to join the company equity. It is “Phillip MFIs Pte Ltd”, an arm of Philip Capital! Phillip Capital established in 1975 and started out as a stockbroker at time of inception, Phillip Capital has now evolved into a fully integrated financial services provider which offers a full range of quality and innovative financial services to retail, corporate and institutional customers. Philip Capital assets under management worldwide is totalling more than USD 10 billion.
